Assoc, Prof. Dr. Sait OZTURK, MD / Neurosurgeon
I was born in 1982. I started my medical education in Istanbul Marmara University Faculty of Medicine (English) in 2000 and graduated in 2007. In 2009, I started my specialization education at Fırat University Faculty of Medicine Neurosurgery Clinic and completed my specialization in 2014.
In the same year, within the scope of TÜBİTAK Supporting Young Scientists Project at Harvard Medical School in the United States; prof. Dr. Under the supervision of Ron L. ALTERMAN, I worked in the fields of Surgical Treatment of Movement Disorders (Neurosurgery), Functional Neurosurgery Interventions and Epilepsy Surgery.
In 2015, I returned to my country and started to work as a specialist in the Department of Neurosurgery, Faculty of Medicine, Fırat University. After this process, I participated in the written and oral proficiency exams (board) held by the European Society of Neurosurgery (EANS) and the Turkish Neurosurgical Society, and I was successful in these exams. I received my title of Assistant Professor in 2016 and Associate Professor in 2020.
I have participated in 86 international and national scientific studies, 5 different science awards, 3 book editorships, 9 different book chapters, and I have been an invited speaker at many scientific meetings.
I am still a board member of the Turkish Neurosurgical Society Education and Training Group of Stereotactic, Functional, Pain and Epilepsy Surgery.
