Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS)
Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS)
This surgery is especially applied in patients who have undergone spinal surgery many times and whose pain does not go away (recurrent lumbar hernia operations and recurrent spinal stenosis surgeries).
Beyond that; It is applied in patients with severe pain in the legs and back due to diabetes (peripheral neuropathic pain) and in patients with cancer-related pain.
Generally, electrical energy is given at low voltages over the spinal cord for an average of one week from the cables placed on the spinal cord in the dorsal region.
If complaints regress during this test process, a permanent battery is inserted. If the patient does not benefit during the test process, the cables placed on the spinal cord are removed.
